With 2,750,000 acres, mostly in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, the
reservatin of the Tohono O'odham Nation is the second largest Native
American reservation in the United States. The mail element of the
flag is the bicolor of yellow over purple, representing the sun breaking
over a distant mesa, turned purple by its own shadows. A red staff
crosses the purple and yellow field, supporting eleven feathers, which
represent the eleven districts into which the reservation is divided. |
