The Cherokee Nation consists of over 200,000 tribal members. The
Cherokee Nation covers over 1,000 square miles, and is based in
Tahlequah, Oklahoma. The Cherokee were originally indigenous to
the southeastern portion of the United States, and were forcibly removed
to Oklahoma in the infamous "Trail of Tears" in 1838. |
