The
logo designed by Gregory Analla for the InterTribal Monitoring
Association utilizes various elements that are integral to Native
American religion and beliefs.
The
whole design is fashioned in a “shield” motif with the symbol of a
cumulonimbus cloud in the center. Emanating from the storm cloud are
4 lines representing the four directions. Within the four quadrants
that the shield is divided into reside these elements:
(A) 3 stars
representing our elders who have passed on and their place in
the heavens as they watch over us.
(B) 4 lightning
bolts representing strength, courage, honor, and loyalty.
(C) The hand of
protection as a guard.
(D) The expanse of
the blue skies enveloping us with hope.
